This Shy Couple Braves the Spotlight to Say "I Do"
I was so excited to be contacted by Erin's mother Chris about photographing her their wedding day. Chris was such an amazing help in the planning process. And I could not have been more thrilled at our meeting that they choose me to be their Portland wedding photographer for their summer wedding at Lakeside Gardens.
Erin and Jeff met the way many couples do these days through a popular dating app. However, it was two friends that decided to put Erin on Tinder. I guess she is pretty lucky they did because her first match was Jeff.
They decided on an easy first date and met for a coffee in at Cedar Hills Crossing. Coffee is always a pressure free way to meet and start getting to know each other. I am sure many great loves started over a cup of coffee.
After around 3 years, this loving teacher and sweet chef decided to say I do. And with the help of Erin's Mother Chris they decided on the beautiful Lakeside Gardens for their wedding.
Lakeside Gardens is a hidden gem! Just minutes from downtown Portland you find yourself in this amazing garden. It is filled with tall cedars, weeping willows, swans and so much more. Having been recently remodeled it has some fun new upgrades as well, my favorite is the big outdoor fireplace.
One thing I love about weddings is some of the family heirlooms and history that come out. When I was photographing the gift table I had zoomed in on this beautiful wooden box. Erin's Mom noticed me and came over to tell me more about this unique piece (picture below). She told me the box had been made by Erin's Grandfather and had been refinished for their wedding as a gift.
After the wedding Erin and Jeff decided to purchase a stunning 20x24 wood framed wall portrait for their home. What a perfect way to enjoy their wedding day all year round. They also spent some time customizing the flush mount photo album that was included in their wedding package.
